Third Annual RiverSculpture
A Contemporary Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition,
September 27, 2008 - January 5, 2009

SPECIAL EVENTS

Inspired by the philosophy of Black Mountain College where students experienced the interconnections between artistic disciplines, a series of special events is scheduled for the weekends in October. These are designed to integrate music, dance and theater and kid’s art with contemporary outdoor sculpture.

Kids’ Art Event: Working with educators from the Asheville Art Museum, children will learn to create their own sculptures.

Music Events: Local musicians will perform in a variety of styles that introduce new ideas and please a broad range of musical tastes.

Dance Events: Local dance companies will interact with the sculptures, mimicking their forms and drawing visitors through the park.

Theater Events: A performance by Montford Park Players will use the sculptures as a backdrop and solo actors will perform well-known scenes.

Events are currently being scheduled. Please check back for updates.
